Cameroon
The Cameroon High Commission celebrated the country’s 50th anniversary of independence at a reception at the Château Laurier on May 20.
China
On May 20, Gu Langlin, wife of the Chinese ambassador, hosted a party at the embassy to display the work of master craftsmen of traditional Chinese arts.
Argentina
The Embassy of Argentina held a ceremony on May 25 at the statue of San Martin in Minto Park on Elgin Street.
Cuban Art
The ambassador of Cuba hosted a vernissage on May 14 featuring an exhibition of work from three Cuban artists, put together by Lilia Faulkner and held at St. Brigid’s Center.

The delegation for the European Commission hosted a party on May 13 to celebrate Europe Day.
Norway
On May 17, the Embassy of Norway celebrated the country’s National Day with a colourful garden party.
Peru
The staff at the Embassy of Peru hosted a farewell party on May 15 for their colleague Gino Arciniega and his wife, who will be leaving shortly.
Dutch Princess
On May 13, Princess Margriet of the Netherlands visited Ottawa. She laid a wreath at the National Military Cemetery in honour of the Canadian soldiers who helped liberate the Netherlands 65 years ago.

Representatives from the four-country European Free Trade Association gathered at a reception at the Icelandic ambassador’s residence in Rockcliffe Park on May 5 to celebrate EFTA’s 50th anniversary.
Tunisia
The Embassy of Tunisia hosted a film night at the Library and Archives on May 4.
UK Elections
The British High Commission hosted an election party on May 6 to watch the country’s election results come in.
WaterCan
The NGO WaterCan held their annual embassy dinner fundraiser on May 7 at the Aberdeen Pavilion in Lansdowne Park.
Women Ambassadors
On May 6, the Norwegian ambassador hosted a meeting for the Organization of Women Ambassadors of Ottawa.

The South African High Commission celebrated their Freedom Day at a reception at the Westin on April 27.
The Netherlands
The Dutch Embassy celebrated the birthday of Queen Beatrix at a reception on April 29th at the ambassador’s residence.

The Embassy of Peru welcomed their new ambassador with a reception following the presentation of his credentials on April 28.

The Embassy of Tunisia held a reception on April 29 at the Château Laurier for their visiting foreign minister.
Togo
The Embassy of Togo celebrated the country’s National Day on May 1 at the St. Elias Center.
Burkina Faso
The Embassy of Burkina Faso held a reception at the Chateau Laurier on April 28 for their visiting foreign minister.
