EU member countries kicked of the 2007 reception season with a large celebration at the National Gallery on Jan 16. The Bulgarian and Romanian embassies celebrated their countries joining the EU, and the Slovenian Embassy celebrated their adoption the Euro as currency.
Croatia
The Embassy of Croatia hosted a concert on Jan. 17 at the National Library to celebrate their 15th anniversary of international recognition as a country.
Juan Soriano
he Mexican Embassy and UNAM hosted a vernissage for an exhibition of work by the late painter Juan Soriano on Jan. 17.
Snowshoeing
The Diplomatic Hospitality Group hosted a morning of snowshoeing on Jan. 19 at the home of Eva Hammond. Spouses of diplomats enjoyed the wonderful Canadian winter sport.
