CARICOM
The delegations representing Caribbean nations in Canada got together at the Chateau Laurier on June 23 to celebrate CARICOM day.
Switzerland
The embassy of Switzerland celebrated their National day with a garden party at their residence and exhibit of work by Swiss-Canadian artist on June 22.
Fashion and Art
The Peruvian embassy sponsored a Fashion and Art exhibit at St- Brigid’s on June 25.
Poland
The Polish embassy hosted a Farwell reception on June 24 for the Culture and Press attaches as well as Minister-Counsellor Artur Michalski , and First Counsellor Monika Zuchniak-Pazdan, who are retuning to Poland.
France
The embassy of France continued their speaker series with a presentation on June 15 on France and the Arctic by their former prime minister.

Iceland
The Icelandic Embassy celebrated the country’s National Day with a reception at the ambassador’s residence on June 17.
Spain
Spanish Ambassador Eudaldo Mirapeix, Baron of Abella, hosted a reception on June 16 to mark the end of its European Union presidency.
ODA Tennis Tournament
The Ottawa Diplomatic Association hosted its first-ever tennis tournament at the Rideau Tennis Club on June 19. The event featured a dinner afterwards.

Ottawa Symphony Orchestra
The Ottawa Symphony Orchestra’s annual Fête Champête was hosted this year by the French Embassy on June 10.
Portugal
The Embassy of Portugal celebrated the country’s National Day with a reception on June 10.
Russia
The Embassy of Russia celebrated the country’s National Day with an afternoon party at the embassy on June 10.
UAE
The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates hosted a reception in honour of the country’s visiting minister of trade.
Cuban Cigars
The Cuban Embassy hosted a cigar-rolling demonstration in the gardens of the ambassador’s residence on June 11.

Africa Day
The African embassies in Ottawa hosted a celebration for the continent at the St. Elias Centre on June 2.
Italy
The Italian Embassy celebrated the country’s National day with a garden party on the grounds of the Italian residence in Aylmer.
Hungary
The Hungarian Embassy hosted a farewell party for their ambassador on June 3.
New Zealand
The New Zealand High Commission hosted a reception on the Hill on June 3 to unveil art donated to Canada by the fellow Commonwealth country to mark 80 years of bilateral relations.
Algerian Soccer
On May 31, the Algerian Embassy hosted a reception for the visit of their former national soccer team players that participated in two World Cups 1982 and 1986.

Argentina
The Embassy of Argentina celebrated the bicentennial of their country’s May Revolution at a reception at Ottawa City Hall on May 25.
France
The French ambassador presented a teacher at Ashbury College with the prestigious insignia “Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques,” created by Napolean and used to celebrate achievements in education.
Azerbaijan
The Embassy of Azerbaijan celebrated the country’s National day with a reception and concert at the National Gallery on May 25.
