Tunisia
The Embassy of Tunisia hosted a reception at the NAC on March 20 to celebrate their National Day.
Latin American Film Festival
The Brazilian Embassy hosted a launch party for this year’s Latin American Film Festival on March 16.
WaterCan
The NGO WaterCan hosted the vernissage for an exhibit called Water for Life on Parliament Hill on March 23.
Bangladesh
The Bangladeshi High Commission hosted a reception on March 26 in honour of the country’s National Day. It was held at the St. Elias Center.

Francophonie
In honour of Francophonie Day, French Ambassador Francois Delattre hosted a reception at his residence on March 15.
St. Patrick’s Day
Hundreds turned out to the residence of the Irish ambassador to drink Irish whiskey and Guiness for St. Patrick’s Day on March 17.
Peru
Staff at the Peruvian Embassy hosted a farewell reception at the residence on March 18 for their outgoing ambassador, Jorge Castaneda Mendez.

Taiwan
David Lee, representative for the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ottawa, hosted a reception at Château Laurier on March 9 for a belated celebration of the Year of the Tiger.
Brazil
Brazilian Ambassador Paulo Cordeiro de Andrade Pinto hosted a reception on March 10 at the residence to welcome a visiting delegation from the Latin American country.
Argentina
The Embassy of Argentina hosted a reception on March 10 for the delegation of Canadian MPs who are travelling to Buenos Aires to conduct exchanges with their Argentinean counterparts.
Lithuania
The Embassy of Lithuania hosted a reception on March 14 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of Lithuanian independence and the opening of the Baltic Film Festival.

Asia Pacific Food Fair
The Spouses’ Association of the Asia-Pacific Embassies organized their annual food fair on March 5. This year’s event was hosted by the Embassy of Japan, with the proceeds going to Haiti earthquake relief.
St. David’s Day
British High Commissioner Anthony Cary and his staff fêted Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, in style at the high commission on March 1.
Women’s Day
The Embassy of China hosted a party on March 4 to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Mexico
The Mexican Embassy hosted a concert by the Ensamble de Cámara Metzonalli at the University of Ottawa on March 5.
Travel and Vacation Show
The countries of the world united at the Aberdeen Pavilion over the weekend for this year’s edition of the Travel and Vacation Show. Dozens of embassies and high commissions banded with travel companies and others in an effort to highlight what they have to offer.

Black and White Soirée
Politicos, diplomats and socialites came together at the National Arts Centre the night of Feb. 27 for the 13th annual Black and White Opera Soirée. This fundraiser for the NAC is a staple of the Ottawa scene and the impressive guest list featured a who’s who of Canadian politics.
Motherland Defenders’ Day
Defence attachés from around Ottawa gathered at the Russian Embassy on Feb. 25 to celebrate Motherland Defenders’ Day, which commemorates all those who have served in the Russian armed forces.
Kuwait
The Embassy of Kuwait hosted a national day celebration at the Chateau Laurier on Feb. 25.
