Loppet
The Estonian prime minister raced in the Gatineau Loppet this past weekend. The annual ski marathon took place on the trails in Gatineau Park.

French Ambassador Philippe Zeller presented International Crisis Group head Louise Arbour with the insignia of the Commander of the Legion of Honour on Feb. 9 at the French Embassy.

The Norwegian Embassy and Royal Canadian Geographical Society co-hosted a seminar on the shared polar history of Norway and Canada, with over 250 people attending at Library and Archives Canada on Feb. 6.

The Iranian Embassy hosted a reception to mark Islamic Revolution Day on Feb. 10 at the chargé d’affaires’ residence in Rockcliffe Park.
Winterlude
On Feb. 13 the Diplomatic Hospitality Group with the embassy of Norway organized a trip to the traditional Norwegian Lavvo tent, which is set up in Confederation Park for Winterlude.
French Bistro
The Sheraton Hotel showed off its new French chef at a lunch on Feb. 9. Guests were treated to a sampling of the new dishes being served in the Sheraton’s main floor Carleton Grill.
Diplomatic Hospitality Group
The Ottawa Diplomatic Hospitality Group organized its first curling session at the RA Centre in Ottawa, hosted by the RA Centre Curling Club on Jan. 30. More than 50 people from 25 countries curled, some for the first time in their lives.

The British High Commission hosted a party to celebrate Robbie Burns Day on Jan. 25. Haggis, an oatmeal and organ meat sausage, was served along with the traditional sides: tatties (mashed potatoes), neeps (turnips), and Glenfiddich whiskey.
