Time to change the consular case debate

For six years now, successive Canadian governments have been pilloried in the courts, before two judicial inquiries and throughout the media for not rendering sufficient assistance to citizens in legal and other distress abroad.

It is surprising then that there has been no public attention in Canada to the recent report issued by Fair Trials International entitled "Consular Assistance and Trial Attendance."
