Is Canada ready for UN prime time?

As elections near for five non-permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council, three questions arise about Canada's bid for a seventh term since 1948-9.

The first is, will Canada be elected? This is the question most asked in the media and in the backrooms at the UN, where Canadian diplomats have been lobbying all and sundry since the Canadian bid was announced.
