African Court stands up for Zimbabweans

A few weeks ago international courts came in for a bit of a kicking in the pages of The Economist.

The venerable British news-weekly lamented that too many nominees to international tribunals are hacks or cronies —rewarded for their own good behaviour (or their willingness to turn a blind eye to political bad behaviour).

Of course, international courts can also attract candidates...
