The myths of Canadian peacekeeping

There is at least one member of Canada's military establishment who holds out hope that Canada will again become a peacekeeping nation. That person is military college professor and defence operations analyst Walter Dorn. He came to prorogation-bound Ottawa last week to tell whomever would listen that he believes Canada will become a peacekeeping nation once again.

The importance of peacekeeping for Canada was that we had at least a semblence of independent foreign policy after several overseas wars as stooges for the great powers. Now that we have gone into Haiti as goons for the US and France, both having a dirty history in that country, and helped overthrow a legally elected president, plus being in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan killing Muslims as stooges for the US and Britain, both having a dirty history in that country, why should anyone listen to what we have to say about anything?
