To claim that Hamas signing a deal with Abbas means that Hamas recognizes the Oslo accords beggars belief. Hamas ran in the Palestinian parliamentary election that they won on a platform of clean government and improved social services. Once in power, they instead staged a putsch against the Palestinian authority, started a war with Israel and brought economic disaster to Gaza. It would be foolish to believe any promise they make until it is reflected in their actions.
