Aid to Focus on Needs During Downturn: Oda

Although development was missing from the budget, CIDA Minister Bev Oda says the government will continue to increase assistance by eight per cent per year.

While aid received no mention in last week's budget, CIDA Minister Bev Oda readily acknowledges that during this global economic

crisis, developing countries will suffer disproportionately from their wealthier counterparts.
