The dust has yet to settle following Afghan-istan's turbulent presidential elections last month, but early indications of electoral fraud and low voter turnout are already casting foreboding shadows over the country's future.

The results may not be fully tallied unit mid-September, but some leading Afghanistan experts already predict the election will bring little more than increased strife to the country....
