Remembering South Africa's historical context

Is 16 years enough to judge South Africa's success? (RE: "South Africa at 20 years free," Feb. 17) I don't know, but Gwynne Dyer's mind seems to be made up.

I think at this juncture it is apt that we look at the 20 years since Nelson Mandela's release from prison in its proper historical context. The reality is that the democratic, non-racial government of Nelson Mandela inherited the following legacy...
