Underneath the pomp and protocol, Japan's first 'Modern Emperor' is a maverick in his own right

All across this young capital, red suns and red maple leafs could be seen fluttering in tandem as Canada prepared to play host to a man, an Emperor, from a dynasty that has been in existence nearly ten times longer than Canada.

Though Canada and Japan share a wonderful friendship, they could hardly be more different, particularly with regards to the differences between the two countries' heads of state....
