Supreme Court to hear Gulf War-era dispute
Nearly 20 years after Iraq plundered Kuwaiti passenger planes, the case comes to Canada as the latter tries to recoup its losses.A dispute that has wound its way from Kuwait to England to Quebec will finally end up in Ottawa next month. The Supreme Court of Canada will be asked to rule on whether a Kuwaiti airline can seize the Montreal-based property of the Iraqi government, including six Bombardier airplanes and two buildings.
