Egypt's ambassador takes issue with Canadian preconditions, but has high hopes for the future.

Hours after giving in to the millions of protesters who had been calling for his resignation, Hosni Mubarak's due-to-be-replaced picture still hangs from a wall in the Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa.

Ironically, a March 2004 report from Parliament's Foreign Affairs committee entitled "Exploring Canada's relations with the countries on the Muslim world" sits on a bookcase on the other side of the room.
