Canadian Support for Israel at UN Rights Council May Hurt Review by Fellow Members

As Canada prepares to put its human rights record under the microscope at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, there are concerns the country may not get a fair review from its peers because of its outspoken support for Israel.

At the same time, there is a feeling the government missed a key opportunity to depoliticize the process by failing to conduct a meaningful national dialogue on human rights in advance of the review.
