Budget likely to set stage for military's future

With a $56-billion federal deficit, procurement projects on hold and the end of military operations in Afghanistan looming, the Canadian Forces' budgetary future is anything but clear.

At the same time, opinions are split on whether the Defence Department should be spared as the government attempts to rein in spending, or if a new role should be envisioned for it.
