African aid to stay level—for now: Oda

But questions over future plans are mounting as Canada prepares to host the G8 and G20.

With the clock ticking down to Canada's hosting of next year's G8 and G20 summits, questions are mounting over the government's plans for long-term aid to Africa.

Yet while acknowledging increasing demand, CIDA Minister Bev Oda has refused to lay out a long-term plan for Canadian aid to Africa, saying only that the government will maintain current funding levels for the coming year.
