Afghan Nerves Rattled by Harper Defeatism: Samad

Prime Minister Stephen Harper's comments that the insurgency in Afghanistan cannot be defeated are taking a toll on the Afghan people, Afghan Ambassador Omar Samad told Embassy last week.

"I've been following the Afghan media and the prime minister's comments have actually rattled nerves," Mr. Samad said. "It did actually have an impact in Afghanistan on the people."
