Canadian investors say Latin America is a great market that needs to be carefully researched and nurtured, and that government and business need to work together.

With 20 independent countries, abundant natural resources and a population of 549 million, Latin America represents a huge market for both foreign and local investors. For a number of years, more than 30 Canadian companies have delved into the region, investing in several sectors, ranging from oil and gas to banking, energy, telecommunications and real estate and mineral extraction.
