But it does have a 'Military-Corporate Complex' with powerful lobbying groups from many sides

U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's famous 1961 farewell address to the American people contained a warning, and added a new concept into our vocabulary: The military-industrial complex.

As Eisenhower, who was the Allied commander in Europe during World War II, put it: "This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience...We must guard...
