Mid-East Crisis Helped Putin Avoid Western Demands

The consultants have paid off. Vladimir Putin looked strong, poised, and even showed the occasional flash of wicked humour as he presided over the G8 Summit last weekend in St. Petersburg. The Russian President reportedly spent $8 Million (CAD) to hire a team of Western public relations consultants to soften his image during his year-long turn at the G8 helm.

That may explain why Putin was borrowing...
