Pauktuutit Delegates Take Tea with the GG

Michaëlle Jean lends support to an Inuit women's organization fighting to gain recognition at the highest political level.

"If the spirit is celebrated and nurtured in equity, the women will thrive. If the women thrive, the men, children, Elders, and community will too." Thus concluded the request to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance, submitted last month by Mary Palliser (above), President of Pauktuutit, who was invited to tea with the Governor General on Dec. 15, along with her entire delegation of Inuit women.
