Doha Round In Overdrive

But the goal of a fairer trading system might get lost in accelerated talks

The dizzying pace of the WTO's Doha Round since early this year is intended to improve trade rules for poor countries by 2006. But the negotiations could have the opposite effect because the over-stretched trade offices of developing nations are scrambling to score invites and interpret highly technical details, says an agricultural trade group in Geneva.
