Pettigrew promises the policy statement "will become a living document" through annual updates and review; Opposition parties unimpressed

The government yesterday delivered a far-reaching foreign policy vision intended to boost Canada's global status -- a document the Opposition is saying "reads like a textbook for a first-year college course in international relations."

Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew led the International Policy Statement that took 16 months to craft and receive Prime Minister Paul Martin's stamp of approval....
