Canadian Bacon: The National Gallery Receives a Gift

From now until October 24, the National Gallery of Canada is displaying a clutch of materials that once belonged to English painter Francis Bacon. The preparatory sketches relate to the major Bacon painting, Study for Portrait I, that resides in the European Galleries on the museum's second floor. The works on paper will be removed from public view in a few weeks due to their due to their inherent fragility....
