Canadian Parliamentarians stake out their turf on the international stage

As chair of the Foreign Affairs committee, Bernard Patry is a natural point of contact for embassies, and he confirms that he gets regular calls from embassy officials. But once that contact is established, he says, the benefits can go both ways -- particularly when a committee is making arrangements to study an issue that will require holding hearings abroad.
