The Netherlands takes the chair of the European Union, midway through an eventful year

Ambassador J.G van Hellenberg Hubar of the Netherlands is preparing to serve a double shift as the working chair of the European Union delegations to Canada in the year to come. Luxembourg, next in line for the six-month Presidency, has no office in Ottawa, thus requiring the Dutch mission to act as the EU's helmsmen in Canada for a full year, ending in June of 2005.
